Independent music is full of people selling things that do not work, so scepticism here is earned and correct. These are the promises this site runs on. Each one is checkable, and the last section tells you how to check them without believing a word of this page.
The four promises
We never charge a radio station. Not for a listing, not for placement, not for anything. All 1363 stations are here because we read their page, not because they paid or applied. Most do not know we exist.
We never sell airplay. Nearly every station here is non-commercial and barred by law from selling airtime. Anyone offering to sell you a spin on these stations is describing a crime. We are not in that business and cannot be.
We never promise you will get played. A music director listens and decides. We can tell you where the door is and exactly what they ask for. Anyone promising the rest is guessing or lying.
We never hunt a contact a station has not published. If a station posts an address as its music route, that is a door and we print it. If it does not, we use the station's mailing address and tell you to write to the music director by role. We do not dig for people.
What happens to your email
Your email opens your sheet. That is the whole transaction, and here is exactly what it does and does not do.
It unlocks the exact submission door for every station matched to your sound and region. The rules and the method were already visible before you typed it; the address is the part behind it.
It puts you on the list. One email when a station on your sheet changes what it wants, plus a weekly letter. Every one has an unsubscribe link and leaving takes one click.
It is never given to a station. You send your own music from your own address. We are not a middleman and stations never receive a list from us.
It is never sold, rented or traded. Not to a label, not to a distributor, not to anybody.
Unsubscribing is permanent. Anyone who asks to stop goes on a suppression list every one of our systems reads, and nobody is ever removed from it.
What costs money, and what never will
The radio side is free and stays free: the finder, all 1363 station pages, the 3929 mapped shows, the readiness checker and the submission email builder. No account, no card.
Separate paid products cover research outside radio and a service where the submitting is done by hand. None of them buy you access to anything on the free side, and none of them buy you a play. If that ever changes, this page changes with it.
How to check any of this in a minute
Open any station page, read the rule we printed, then open that station's own website and find the same words. Everything here was read off the station's own page by hand. If a rule does not match, say so and it gets fixed that day. A wrong rule is worse than no rule, because somebody acts on it.
Pick your sound and region on Rotation and each of these stations shows its real submission contact and the exact rules it posts: clean edit, WAV, form or mail. Checked by hand and kept current. No station here paid to be listed.
